About us
Zezé Di Camargo wrote songs all of Brazil knows by heart. Before fame, he was the songwriter who heard his own songs on the radio in other people's voices — many listeners had no idea who wrote them. ZC Edições exists so that never happens again: a place where every song is registered, protected and taken to whoever is going to sing it.

Mirosmar José de Camargo is born, son of farmer Francisco and Helena. In the Goiás countryside, music arrives early — and stays.

The first accordion
At 11, his father gives him an accordion. It is the beginning of a life devoted to music.

His first solo album
After years chasing a career in São Paulo, he releases his first solo album. Soon after, his songs begin to be recorded by major names in sertanejo music.

“Solidão”
Sung by Leandro & Leonardo, it becomes his first big hit as a songwriter and plays on radio stations across the country — many listeners had no idea who wrote it.

“É o Amor”
Zezé says the idea came while he was thinking of “Negue”, sung by Maria Bethânia, and that the song was finished in about three hours. Released in 1991, it becomes one of the most played songs of the decade.

“É o Amor” is recorded by Maria Bethânia and joins the soundtrack of TV Globo's telenovela Suave Veneno.

On the big screen
The film 2 Filhos de Francisco brings the Camargo family's story to cinemas, with classics and songs he wrote on the soundtrack.

Written in about three hours, “É o Amor” (“It's Love”) was among the 30 most played songs in Brazil in the 1990s and has been re-recorded more than 70 times.
